Atlantic Group is hiring a Senior Billing Accountant (Hybrid) in New York, NY for our client, supporting client billing, accounts receivable, and revenue operations within a professional services environment. In this role, you will manage end-to-end billing processes, oversee collections, and coordinate closely with project managers and internal teams to ensure accurate invoicing and revenue tracking. You will leverage advanced Excel and billing systems to reconcile data, resolve discrepancies, and support financial reporting while driving process improvements across billing workflows.

Responsibilities as the Senior Billing Accountant:

  • Client Billing & Invoicing: Manage accurate and timely client billing processes including invoice preparation, review, and distribution.
  • Accounts Receivable & Collections: Lead collections efforts and coordinate with clients to resolve outstanding invoices and payment issues.
  • Project Billing Coordination: Partner with project managers to review billing schedules, validate billable hours, and ensure alignment with contracts.
  • Timesheet & Data Reconciliation: Ensure accurate timesheet completion and reconcile billing data to support revenue reporting.
  • Discrepancy Resolution & Analysis: Investigate billing discrepancies and support financial analysis and reporting related to billing performance.

Qualifications for the Senior Billing Accountant:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required (CPA preferred).
  • Experience: 5+ years of accounting or billing experience within a professional services firm with time-based or project-based invoicing is required.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of end-to-end billing workflows, revenue recognition, and accounts receivable processes within professional services environments is required.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel along with experience using billing systems, ERP platforms, or time tracking systems is required.
  • Skills & Attributes: Demonstrates strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to manage deadlines, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
