Job Overview – Cost Accountant (Manufacturing)
Compensation: $80,000 – $95,000/year + bonus
Location: Charlotte, NC
Schedule: Monday to Friday (In-Office)
Atlantic Group is hiring a Cost Accountant (Manufacturing) in Charlotte, NC for our client, supporting product costing, manufacturing cost analysis, and financial reporting within a production-driven environment. In this role, you will manage product costing within SAP, analyze manufacturing cost drivers, and support month-end close and financial reporting activities. You will collaborate closely with operations, sales, and finance leadership to provide cost insights, budgeting support, and financial analysis that guide operational and strategic decisions.
Responsibilities as the Cost Accountant (Manufacturing):
- Product Costing Management: Manage SAP product costing processes and maintain accurate master data supporting manufacturing operations and inventory valuation.
- Month-End Close Support: Execute SAP CO month-end close activities while ensuring accurate cost allocations, inventory adjustments, and cost center reporting.
- Manufacturing Cost Analysis: Analyze manufacturing costs and income statement accounts to identify cost trends, operational variances, and financial performance drivers.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly financial and operational reports including variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior periods.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with operations, supply chain, and sales teams to support product cost estimates, financial modeling, and operational decision-making.
Qualifications for the Cost Accountant (Manufacturing):
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
- Experience: 5+ years of cost accounting experience within a manufacturing or production environment is required.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of manufacturing cost structures, inventory accounting, and cost analysis within a production-driven business environment.
- Technical Skills: Experience using SAP Controlling (CO) for product costing and materials costing is required, and experience with SAP S/4HANA is preferred.
- Skills & Attributes: Demonstrates strong analytical abilities, financial modeling capabilities, and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with operations and finance leadership.
