Job Overview – Senior Finance Associate (Private Equity)
Compensation: $90,000 – $110,000/year + bonus
Location: Boston, MA
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Atlantic Group is hiring a Senior Finance Associate (Private Equity) in Boston, MA for our client, supporting partnership accounting, fund reporting, and treasury operations across private equity investment vehicles. In this hybrid role, you will oversee quarterly and year-end reporting, review capital activity and allocations, coordinate tax reporting, and leverage advanced Excel to enhance controls, reporting accuracy, and operational scalability within a fast-paced investment environment.
Responsibilities as the Senior Finance Associate (Private Equity):
- Partnership Reporting & Close: Own quarterly and year-end accounting and financial reporting for assigned private equity partnerships.
- Capital Activity Oversight: Review capital calls, distributions, and daily fund transactions to ensure accuracy and proper internal controls.
- Tax & K-1 Coordination: Prepare tax-basis books, track K-1 activity, and collaborate with internal and external tax teams on partnership reporting.
- Treasury & Fund Administration: Manage cash activity, reconciliations, custody tracking, and tax withholding processes across funds.
- Process Improvement & Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams to enhance reporting workflows, strengthen controls, and support systems improvements.
Qualifications for the Senior Finance Associate (Private Equity):
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required, with a Master’s degree preferred.
- Certification: CPA preferred.
- Experience: 3+ years of partnership or fund accounting experience within private equity, alternative investments, or public accounting supporting investment clients.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of investment partnerships, capital accounts, allocations, partnership tax concepts, and private equity fund structures.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel required, with experience working with fund accounting systems or investment reporting platforms preferred.
- Skills & Attributes: Detail-oriented and proactive professional with strong project management skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
