Job Overview – Senior Manager, SEC Reporting (Remote)
Compensation: $150,000 – $200,000/year + bonus
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Remote)
Atlantic Group is hiring a Senior Manager, SEC Reporting (Remote) for our client, leading technical accounting and SEC reporting across complex capital structures and public company transactions. This fully remote role oversees 10-K and 10-Q filings, supports M&A and financing activities, and ensures compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations. Candidates must have a CPA and 8+ years of public or technical accounting experience with strong SEC reporting exposure, including work with public or pre-IPO companies.
Responsibilities as the Senior Manager, SEC Reporting:
- SEC Filings & Disclosure Oversight: Lead preparation and review of 10-K, 10-Q, S-1, and other SEC filings, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with disclosure requirements.
- Technical Accounting Leadership: Serve as a subject matter expert on complex accounting areas including convertible debt, derivatives, equity transactions, and purchase accounting.
- Transaction Advisory & M&A Support: Provide accounting guidance for mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity issuances, and complex financing arrangements.
- ASC Research & Policy Development: Interpret and apply relevant ASC guidance (including 470, 480, 805, 810, and 815) and prepare technical accounting memos and policy documentation.
- Process Improvement & Collaboration: Partner with executive leadership, FP&A, Legal, and external auditors to enhance reporting processes and resolve technical accounting issues.
Qualifications for the Senior Manager, SEC Reporting:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
- Certification: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.
- Experience: 8+ years of public accounting or technical accounting experience with strong SEC reporting exposure, including work with public or pre-IPO companies.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and complex financial instruments and business combinations.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in financial reporting tools and Microsoft Excel; experience with disclosure management systems preferred.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical and project management skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly, manage multiple deadlines, and operate effectively in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
