Atlantic Group is hiring an Accounting Manager (Hybrid) in Philadelphia, PA for our client, overseeing close, financial reporting, and operational accounting within a regulated environment. This hybrid role leads monthly and quarterly close, supports GAAP financial reporting, mentors staff, partners cross-functionally with the business, and serves as a key liaison for auditors, regulators, and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities as the Accounting Manager:

  • Financial Reporting & Close Oversight: Oversee and participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis, and reporting schedules.
  • GAAP & Regulatory Reporting: Support internal and external GAAP financial reporting, including required regulatory filings.
  • Operational Accounting Leadership: Oversee operational accounting areas such as revenue, expenses, intercompany activity, and other business-specific processes to ensure accurate general ledger activity.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Serve as a key resource for accounting questions while providing guidance, training, and mentorship to staff and senior accountants.
  • Audit & Process Improvement: Act as a primary contact for external auditors, support audit deliverables, review complex transactions, and contribute to internal controls and process enhancements.

Qualifications for the Accounting Manager:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required (CPA strongly preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of accounting or public accounting audit experience, including review, mentorship, or team leadership responsibilities within a complex or regulated environment.
  • Accounting Expertise: Strong understanding of general accounting principles with the ability to apply technical guidance to both routine and complex accounting matters.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with ERP systems such as PeopleSoft, strong Excel proficiency, and comfort using financial data tools, with SQL knowledge preferred.
  • Skills & Attributes: Solutions-oriented leader with strong analytical and communication skills, the ability to manage staff and deadlines, and an interest in process improvement and new technologies.
