Compensation: $115,000 – $150,000/year + bonus

Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)

Atlantic Group is hiring a Fund Accountant (Alternative Investments) in New York, NY for our client. In this hybrid role, you will support fund accounting and cash activity across alternative investment vehicles, including capital calls, subscriptions, distributions, and trading-related payments. You will partner closely with Operations, Tax, and Investment teams while leveraging Excel and fund accounting systems such as Investran to support accurate reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close. This role is ideal for an accountant with strong alternatives exposure and a detail-oriented, process-driven mindset.

Responsibilities as the Fund Accountant (Alternative Investments):

  • Cash & Capital Activity: Process wire activity, capital calls, subscriptions, distributions, redemptions, and trading-related cash movements.
  • Reconciliations & Close Support: Record, review, and reconcile daily and monthly cash and bank activity and support month-end close deliverables and analysis.
  • Invoice Review & Payments: Review invoices, ensure accurate allocation, and prepare items for payment processing in accordance with fund structures.
  • Audit & Tax Support: Assist with audit and tax deliverables, including the preparation of schedules, workpapers, and supporting documentation.
  • Collaboration & Improvement: Partner with Operations, Tax, and Investment teams to ensure data integrity while building Excel-based tools and supporting process improvements.

Qualifications for the Fund Accountant (Alternative Investments):

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field required.
  • Experience: 3-6 years of accounting experience within fund administration, investment management, or an institutional investment environment, with direct exposure to investment funds.
  • Industry Knowledge: Working knowledge of alternative investment structures such as private equity and hedge funds, including capital activity and cash flows, with broader asset class exposure a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Strong Excel proficiency required, with experience using fund accounting platforms such as Investran or similar systems preferred.
  • Skills & Attributes: Highly detail-oriented professional with strong organizational and communication skills, the ability to work independently, and an interest in process improvement, systems thinking, and technology-enabled solutions.
