Job Overview – Senior Accounting Manager
Compensation: $125,000 – $140,000/year + bonus
Location: Boston, MA
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Atlantic Group is hiring a Senior Accounting Manager in Boston, MA for our client, leading core accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance. In this hybrid role, you will own the close process, manage audits, and strengthen internal controls while applying deep U.S. GAAP expertise. You will leverage tools such as Excel and QuickBooks to enhance reporting accuracy and support cross-functional initiatives in a multi-entity environment.
Responsibilities as the Senior Accounting Manager:
- Financial Reporting Leadership: Own month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Financial Statements & Consolidations: Manage the preparation and review of consolidated and multi-entity financial statements.
- Audit & Compliance Management: Lead the annual audit process and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors to ensure timely, accurate execution.
- Internal Controls & Improvement: Establish and enforce internal controls while driving process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
- Tax & Treasury Oversight: Coordinate tax filings with external partners and manage banking relationships to support operational and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications for the Senior Accounting Manager:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required (MBA or advanced degree preferred).
- Certification: CPA strongly preferred.
- Experience: 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with ownership of close, financial reporting, and audit processes in a U.S. GAAP environment.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience with multi-entity and consolidated financial statements, cost accounting concepts, and tax compliance.
- Technical Skills: Advanced Excel proficiency required, with experience using QuickBooks or similar accounting systems.
- Skills & Attributes: Highly organized, detail-oriented leader with strong communication skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a collaborative approach to cross-functional work.
