Compensation: $140,000 – $160,000/year + bonus

Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)

Atlantic Group is hiring an Assistant Controller (Real Estate) in Philadelphia, PA for our client. This hybrid role supports financial reporting, accounting operations, and team leadership across a multi-property real estate and hospitality portfolio, overseeing month-end close, GAAP reporting, treasury, budgeting, audits, and system administration using Yardi Voyager, Sage Intacct, and Concur.

Responsibilities as the Assistant Controller (Real Estate):

  • Accounting Leadership & Team Oversight: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of senior accountants while setting clear expectations and maintaining a high-performance, accountable culture.
  • Month-End Close & Financial Reporting: Own the full month-end close for a multi-property real estate portfolio, including review of journal entries, reconciliations, and preparation of GAAP-compliant financial statements with variance analysis.
  • Reporting & Budget Management: Consolidate property-level results into portfolio-wide reporting and support annual budgeting and reforecasting by analyzing performance against plan.
  • Treasury & Internal Controls: Oversee cash forecasting, bank reconciliations, and fund transfers while strengthening internal controls and ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
  • Systems & Improvement: Act as system lead for Yardi, Sage Intacct, Concur, and integrations, manage external audits and tax coordination, and drive process improvements through SOP enhancements and automation.

Qualifications for the Assistant Controller (Real Estate):

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
  • Experience: 6+ years of progressive accounting experience in real estate or hospitality, including 2+ years in a supervisory or team leadership role.
  • Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with Yardi Voyager, Sage Intacct or comparable ERPs, Concur, treasury and banking platforms, and advanced Microsoft Excel.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP, real estate and hospitality accounting, cash management, and POS or PMS integrations.
  • Skills & Attributes: Detail-oriented, analytical professional with strong communication skills, effective time management, and the ability to collaborate in a fast-paced environment.
