Compensation: $95,000 – $105,000/year + bonus

Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)

Atlantic Group is hiring a Revenue Accountant (ASC 606) in Middlesex County, MA for our client. This hybrid role handles revenue accounting and month-end close activities, reviews customer contracts for ASC 606 treatment, executes SOX controls, supports audits, and partners with cross-functional teams on revenue matters. Ideal candidates have strong ASC 606 expertise, experience in publicly traded environments, and proficiency with SAP, BPC, and Excel.

Responsibilities as the Revenue Accountant (ASC 606):

  • Revenue Recognition: Review customer contracts and determine appropriate revenue treatment in accordance with ASC 606 and U.S. GAAP.
  • Month-End Close: Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including journal entries, revenue adjustments, and account reconciliations.
  • SOX Compliance & Audit Support: Prepare revenue-related SOX controls and provide documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Collaboration: Partner with Sales, Legal, FP&A, and Operations to resolve revenue issues and evaluate contract impacts.
  • Reporting & Improvement: Support revenue reporting, analysis, and initiatives to enhance workflows, strengthen controls, and improve accuracy within SAP and financial systems.

Qualifications for the Revenue Accountant (ASC 606):

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required (CPA preferred).
  • Experience: 2+ years of revenue accounting or revenue recognition experience within a publicly traded company, public accounting firm, or corporate revenue team.
  • Technical Skills: Strong ASC 606 and U.S. GAAP knowledge with experience in SAP or similar ERPs, familiarity with BPC, Hyperion, or Cognos, and advanced Excel skills.
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of SOX compliance, audit procedures, and revenue accounting practices for global or complex organizations.
  • Skills & Attributes: Highly organized professional with strong analytical and communication skills, able to prioritize effectively in fast-paced environments while maintaining accuracy and quality.
