Job Overview – Corporate Controller:
Compensation: $150,000 – $165,000/year + bonus
Location: New York, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Atlantic Group is hiring a Corporate Controller in New York, NY with our client. This hybrid role oversees financial operations across multiple entities, including budgeting, forecasting, GAAP reporting, monthly close, and audit management. You will guide public audit processes, support M&A activity, enhance internal controls, and lead a high-performing accounting team. Experience with ERP systems, public audits, and private equity–backed environments is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities as the Corporate Controller:
- Financial Management: Oversee full-cycle accounting, budgeting, forecasting, monthly close, and internal controls across multiple entities.
- GAAP Reporting & Audits: Prepare and review GAAP financial statements and lead external audits to ensure timely, accurate compliance.
- Systems & Process Improvement: Manage ERP/GL systems while driving automation, workflow enhancements, and data integrity.
- Strategic Finance & M&A: Provide financial insights to leadership and support due diligence, integration, and post-acquisition reporting.
- Team & Cross-Functional Leadership: Mentor accounting staff and collaborate with Legal, Operations, and FP&A to strengthen financial policies and controls.
Qualifications for the Corporate Controller:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required (CPA required).
- Experience: 10-17 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including 5+ years in a senior controller role, with private equity and M&A experience strongly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Strong command of U.S. GAAP, ERP systems, audit readiness, process improvement, and financial reporting frameworks.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience managing financial operations in public audit environments with exposure to private equity–backed companies and acquisition activity.
- Skills & Attributes: Analytical, detail-oriented leader with strong communication skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments.
