Job Overview – Senior Accounting Manager:
Compensation: $170,000 – $185,000/year + bonus

Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)

Atlantic Group is hiring a Senior Accounting Manager in Camden County, NJ for our client. In this hybrid role, you will lead financial reporting, month-end close, and compliance with U.S. GAAP and SOX. You’ll manage the accounting team, improve processes, and collaborate with FP&A, Tax, and Treasury to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Ideal for a CPA with public accounting experience and a background in construction or project-based finance.

Responsibilities as the Senior Accounting Manager:

  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team while fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Month-End Close: Oversee the full close process, ensuring timely and accurate journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations across systems.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with U.S. GAAP, performing variance analysis to support business insights.
  • Technical Accounting: Advise on complex transactions, ensuring proper treatment and clear communication with leadership.
  • Process & Controls: Strengthen SOX compliance, streamline accounting processes, and drive automation to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications for the Senior Accounting Manager:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
  • Certification: CPA required.
  • Experience: 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting, with preferred background in construction or project-based environments.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems with deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SOX requirements, and internal control frameworks.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of financial close processes, technical accounting, and audit coordination.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strategic, detail-oriented leader with strong communication skills and a proven ability to lead teams, improve processes, and deliver results.
