Atlantic Group is hiring a Staff Accountant (Corporate Accounting) with our client in New York, NY. In this hybrid role, you will support monthly financial reporting, audits, and forecasting within a fast-paced corporate accounting environment. You’ll assist with journal entries, reconciliations, client billing, and financial analysis while ensuring compliance with GAAP standards. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated accounting professional to strengthen their financial reporting skills and gain exposure to corporate accounting systems such as SAP.

Responsibilities as the Staff Accountant (Corporate Accounting):

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly financial packages, forecasts, budgets, and audited financial statements.
  • Reconciliations: Perform balance sheet, P&L, and bank reconciliations (including daily cash entries) to ensure accuracy.
  • Month-End Close: Prepare journal entries, accruals, and schedules to support timely and accurate month-end reporting.
  • Billing & Revenue: Assist with client billing and maintain accuracy in billing schedules and revenue recognition.
  • Audit & Compliance: Support internal and external audits while ensuring adherence to all regulatory requirements.

Qualifications for the Staff Accountant (Corporate Accounting):

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • Experience: 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in corporate or public accounting, with exposure to financial reporting or the financial services industry.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software, with SAP experience preferred.
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of GAAP accounting principles, audit support, and financial reporting standards.
  • Skills & Attributes: Detail-oriented and analytical with strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment.
