Job Overview – Senior Associate, Risk & Controls (Private Debt):
Compensation: $100,000 – $115,000/year + bonus
Location: Boston, MA
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Atlantic Group is hiring a Senior Associate, Risk & Controls (Private Debt) with our client in Boston, MA. This hybrid role focuses on SOC 1 and SOC 2 programs, internal control testing, and collaboration with Finance, IT, and Compliance teams. You will partner with external auditors, evaluate vendor control environments, and contribute to strategic audit initiatives, leveraging expertise in SOC reporting, private debt, and asset management.
Responsibilities as the Senior Associate, Risk & Controls (Private Debt):
- Audit Participation: Collaborate with Finance, IT, and Compliance teams while engaging with external auditors to support audit activities.
- SOC 1 Program: Monitor in-scope activities, assess scope changes, and contribute to successful Type 1 and Type 2 certifications.
- Control Testing: Evaluate, design, and test financial, operational, and IT controls, documenting results and delivering recommendations.
- Risk Assessment: Identify control gaps, propose remediation strategies, and ensure compliance with AICPA guidance.
- Vendor Oversight: Review SOC 1 and SOC 2 reports from third-party providers to assess the adequacy of vendor control environments.
- Reporting & Strategy: Draft and review SOC reports, recommend updates for regulatory alignment, and support internal audit growth initiatives.
Qualifications for the Senior Associate, Risk & Controls (Private Debt):
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- Certification: CPA, CIA, or CISA designation preferred.
- Experience: 3-6 years of audit experience in public accounting or internal audit, with demonstrated SOC 1 exposure either in-house or in an audit capacity.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of internal controls, audit methodologies, and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience in financial services, banking, or insurance is required, with asset management or private debt exposure strongly preferred.
- Skills & Attributes: Demonstrates strong analytical, client service, and time management skills while being a detail-oriented self-starter with excellent communication and organizational abilities.
