Job Overview – Senior Accounting Manager:
Compensation: $150,000 – $175,000/year + bonus

Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)

Atlantic Group is hiring a Senior Accounting Manager in Philadelphia, PA, on behalf of our client. In this role, you will oversee financial reporting, manage month-end close, and ensure compliance with GAAP, SEC, and SOX standards. You will review complex transactions, support audits, and lead an accounting team while driving process improvements and cross-functional collaboration. This opportunity is ideal for a CPA with Big 4 or public/private experience seeking a visible leadership role.

Responsibilities as the Senior Accounting Manager:

  • Financial Oversight: Ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance of accounting practices across assigned business units.
  • Month-End Close: Manage the general ledger, reconciliations, and close activities to deliver timely and accurate reporting.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Oversee accounting policies and ensure adherence to FASB, GAAP, SEC, and SOX standards.
  • Audit & Reporting: Partner with internal and external auditors, provide required documentation, and support quarterly and annual filings.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff while fostering career growth and high performance.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement technology-driven efficiencies, policies, and controls to strengthen financial operations.

Qualifications for the Senior Accounting Manager:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required, with an MBA or Master’s in Accounting strongly preferred.
  • Licensure: Active CPA license required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in management, with Big 4 audit or a mix of public and private experience strongly preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Expertise in GAAP, FASB, SEC, and SOX compliance with ability to document and resolve complex technical accounting issues.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of internal controls, financial reporting, and audit requirements.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong leadership, analytical, and project management skills with proven success in communication and process improvements.
  • Travel Requirement: Minimal travel required for manager meetings and cross-business collaboration.
