Atlantic Group is hiring a Fund Accountant (Private Equity & Direct Lending) for our client in New York, NY, to oversee fund accounting, cash management, and financial reporting. In this role, you will collaborate with SBIC managers, investment teams, auditors, and fund administrators to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant reporting. Ideal for professionals with fund accounting experience in private equity or direct lending, and a strong background in public audit or fund administration.
Responsibilities as the Fund Accountant:
- Fund Administration: Manage daily operations and accounting for private equity and direct lending funds.
- Cash Management: Oversee cash positions, process transactions, and maintain accurate records.
- Audit Support: Coordinate annual financial statement audits with external auditors.
- Reporting & Communication: Prepare client, internal, and investor reports in collaboration with fund teams.
- Special Projects: Contribute to ad-hoc projects, process improvements, and operational initiatives.
Qualifications for the Fund Accountant:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required (CPA preferred).
- Experience: 2-5 years of fund accounting experience in private equity, direct lending, or fund administration, with public accounting audit experience strongly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel and fund accounting/reporting systems, with in-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP and partnership accounting.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with private equity and direct lending structures, SBIC funds, and investment reporting requirements.
- Skills & Attributes: Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive, with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
