Job Overview – Vice President (FP&A):
Compensation: $150,000 – $225,000/year + bonus
Location: New York, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Lead financial planning, portfolio analysis, and performance reporting as a Vice President (FP&A) with our client in New York, NY (Hybrid). Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and KPI reporting for the management company and investment funds, partnering with senior leadership to evaluate strategic initiatives, assess investment performance, and improve data governance. Ideal for FP&A leaders with experience in private equity, alternative investments, or asset management, and expertise in portfolio analytics, financial modeling, and KPI dashboards.
Responsibilities as the Vice President (FP&A):
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead annual and multi-year budgeting and forecasting for the management company and investment funds.
- Strategic Partnership: Advise senior leadership on financial impacts of strategic initiatives, fundraising, and capital allocation.
- Analysis & Modeling: Build scenario models, sensitivity analyses, and performance metrics to guide firm and portfolio decisions.
- Portfolio Insights: Evaluate fund performance, capital pacing, IRR/MOIC trends, and cash flow projections.
- KPI & Reporting: Manage standardized KPI dashboards, streamline reporting processes, and prepare executive and investor materials.
- Process & Data Management: Improve data quality, drive automation, and establish best practices for financial data governance.
Qualifications for the Vice President (FP&A):
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required (CPA or CFA strongly preferred).
- Experience: 10+ years in FP&A, investment banking, corporate finance, or consulting, preferably within private equity, alternative investments, asset management, or corporate finance.
- Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills for modeling, forecasting, and KPI dashboards, with strong knowledge of GAAP, fund accounting, and alternative investments.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of private equity and alternative investment strategies, portfolio performance metrics, and capital deployment analysis.
- Skills & Attributes: Strategic thinker with exceptional analytical, leadership, and communication skills, proven in building high-performing FP&A teams and delivering results in fast-paced environments.
