Job Overview – Remote Technical Accounting Partner (SEC Reporting):
Compensation: $200,000 – $300,000/year + bonus
Location: Remote Role
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Atlantic Group is hiring a Remote Technical Accounting Partner (SEC Reporting) to lead complex reporting and compliance for our client. In this fully remote role, you’ll manage SEC filings, GAAP/IFRS compliance, and technical accounting for public company clients, focusing on Smaller Reporting Companies. Responsibilities include reviewing 10-Ks and 10-Qs, and advising on revenue recognition, lease accounting, and debt and equity structuring. Ideal for experienced CPAs with deep SEC and technical accounting expertise.
Responsibilities as the Remote Technical Accounting Partner:
- SEC Reporting Oversight: Lead preparation and review of 10-K, 10-Q, and other SEC filings for smaller reporting companies, ensuring timely, accurate, and GAAP-compliant submissions.
- Technical Accounting Research: Provide expert-level guidance on GAAP, SEC, and IFRS standards including ASC 470, 480, 606, 805, 810, 815, and 842.
- Complex Transactions Support: Analyze and advise on convertible debt, embedded derivatives, warrant valuations, acquisition accounting, and revenue recognition.
- Policy & Process Improvement: Develop and refine accounting policies, internal controls, and reporting procedures to meet evolving regulatory requirements.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with legal, finance, and executive teams on disclosure matters, audit coordination, and financial modeling projects.
- Project Management: Drive accounting and reporting projects from planning through execution, balancing competing priorities and tight deadlines in a remote environment.
Qualifications for the Remote Technical Accounting Partner:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required (MBA highly preferred).
- Certification: CPA required.
- Experience: 18+ years of progressive experience in public accounting or a public/private mix, with specialized expertise in SEC reporting and technical accounting for smaller reporting companies.
- Technical Skills: Expert-level knowledge of ASC standards including 470, 480, 606, 805, 810, 815, and 842, combined with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong financial modeling skills.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP, IFRS, and statutory accounting, with experience in debt and equity structuring, business combinations, and derivative accounting.
- Skills & Attributes: Excellent analytical and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple complex projects remotely, demonstrating strong leadership and ownership throughout.
