Job Overview – Vice President of Private Equity Fund Accounting:
Compensation: $185,000 – $225,000/year + bonus
Location: New York, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)

Take ownership of fund reporting and investor communications as the Vice President of Fund Accounting with our client’s private equity team in New York, NY (Hybrid). Oversee quarterly reporting, capital activity, and both in-house and outsourced fund processes. Collaborate with auditors, fund administrators, and internal stakeholders while driving process improvements using Investran, InvestorVision, and Excel. Ideal for a CPA with deep expertise in private equity fund accounting, audit, and investor servicing.

Responsibilities as the Vice President of Private Equity Fund Accounting:

  • Fund Reporting Oversight: Review financial statements, equity roll forwards, and reporting workbooks for internal and external funds.
  • Capital Activity & Investor Reporting: Manage capital calls, distributions, capital statements, ILPA templates, K-1s, and tax notices via InvestorVision.
  • Cash & Treasury Management: Oversee cash activity, reconciliations, and coordinate with treasury on wires, accounts, and transitions.
  • Audit & Vendor Management: Maintain relationships with auditors, fund administrators, and service providers; manage audit deliverables.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, and Investor Relations to enhance investor servicing and operations.
  • Development & Process Improvement: Mentor staff and drive reporting automation through Investran, InvestorVision, and Excel.

Qualifications for the Vice President of Private Equity Fund Accounting:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • Certification: Certified Public Accountant (CPA), active and in good standing required.
  • Experience: 12-15 years in public accounting and private equity fund accounting, with expertise in both in-house and outsourced fund structures.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Investran and InvestorVision, with advanced Excel capabilities in automation, financial modeling, and data analysis.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of private equity structures, fund lifecycle events, capital activity, and investor reporting standards including ILPA.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strategic and detail-oriented leader with excellent communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and the ability to manage deadlines and teams in a high-volume environment.
