Job Overview – Accounts Payable & Expense Operations Manager:
Compensation: $120,000 – $175,000/year + bonus
Location: Greenwich, CT
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Drive process excellence as the Accounts Payable & Expense Operations Manager with our client in Greenwich, CT (Hybrid). Oversee accounts payable, T&E, and vendor management while optimizing Workday (AP/ERP) and Concur (T&E). Lead KPI reporting, cross-functional initiatives, and support allocations and financial reporting. Ideal for a strategic AP leader with hedge fund experience and expertise in financial systems and multicurrency operations.
Responsibilities as the Accounts Payable & Expense Operations Manager:
- Department Leadership: Oversee AP, T&E, and Vendor Management functions, define target operating models, and hire for open roles.
- System & Process Optimization: Enhance efficiency in Workday and Concur, and assess new tools for vendor, contract, and travel management.
- Performance & Reporting: Establish and track KPIs, implement improvements, and deliver operational dashboards for senior leadership.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, HR, Market Data, and Tech to streamline workflows across departments.
- Compliance & Expense Oversight: Ensure VAT compliance, support allocations and reconciliations, and maintain strong service for stakeholders.
Qualifications for the Accounts Payable & Expense Operations Manager:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field.
- Experience: 10+ years of experience leading accounts payable and expense operations within hedge fund or investment management environments, ideally at mid- to large-sized firms.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Workday (AP/ERP), Concur (T&E), and Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and charting, with strong PowerPoint skills for developing presentations.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of vendor management, travel and expense policies, expense allocation principles, and global compliance standards, including VAT and intercompany transactions.
- Skills & Attributes: Strategic leader with excellent communication skills, high attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and a collaborative, adaptable mindset in fast-paced settings.
