Job Overview – Statutory Accounting and Reporting Manager:
Compensation: $120,000 – $140,000/year + bonus
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Lead NAIC reporting and reinsurance accounting as an Insurance Statutory Reporting Manager with our client in Philadelphia, PA (Hybrid). In this role, you will manage statutory filings, insurance financials, and intercompany activity while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Experience with SOVOS, Flexi, insurance accounting, and NAIC reporting is highly preferred.
Responsibilities as the Insurance Statutory Reporting Manager:
- Statutory Filings: Prepare and file accurate financial statements, schedules, and exhibits with NAIC and state regulators.
- Insurance Accounting: Oversee reinsurance transactions, intercompany balances, and daily accounting operations.
- Annual Reporting: Lead the preparation of annual statutory statements and related disclosures.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure alignment with insurance industry regulations and statutory reporting standards.
- Process Improvement: Streamline accounting workflows and enhance reporting efficiency.
- Stakeholder Communication: Provide clear financial insights to internal teams and external regulators.
Qualifications for the Statutory Accounting and Reporting Manager:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- Experience: 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 5+ years focused on NAIC statutory reporting and insurance regulatory compliance.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of insurance accounting, NAIC statutory requirements, reinsurance, and state regulatory frameworks.
- Technical Skills: Experience with SOVOS statutory reporting software and Flexi or similar enterprise accounting systems.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong communication, analytical, and decision-making skills with sharp attention to detail, a problem-solving mindset, and focus on continuous improvement.
