Job Overview – Senior Financial Reporting Accountant:
Compensation: $96,000 – $120,000/year + bonus
Location: Dover, DE
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)

Lead SEC and GAAP reporting as a Senior Financial Reporting Accountant with our client in Dover, DE (Hybrid), preparing 10-Q/10-K filings, earnings releases, and regulatory financials. Collaborate with Investor Relations, Treasury, and FP&A while supporting audits, month-end close, and technical accounting. Experience with Workiva, Blackline, PowerPlan, and SEC reporting is highly preferred.

Responsibilities as the Senior Financial Reporting Accountant:

  • SEC & Financial Reporting: Prepare quarterly and annual SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K), earnings releases, and investor materials in compliance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Regulatory & Compliance: Assist with financial statements for regulated utilities and employee benefit plans in accordance with DOL and industry regulations.
  • Audit Support & Internal Controls: Coordinate with auditors, support audit requests, and maintain compliance with internal control procedures.
  • Month-End Close & Entries: Prepare elimination entries, reconcile balance sheets, and ensure accuracy across the monthly close cycle.
  • Optimization & Support: Contribute to process improvements, update policy documentation, and assist in training junior staff.

Qualifications for the Senior Financial Reporting Accountant:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience in public accounting or industry, with preferred exposure to SEC reporting.
  • Certification: CPA preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with additional experience in Workiva, Blackline, and PowerPlan preferred.
  • Skills & Attributes: Excellent communicator with sharp analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt, prioritize, and collaborate under tight deadlines.
