Join our client as a Senior Tax Analyst (SALT) in Chester, PA (Hybrid), where you’ll lead state and local tax (SALT) compliance, reporting, and analysis for corporate and partnership entities. This high-impact role is ideal for tax professionals with experience in large multinational corporations or top public accounting firms. You’ll oversee complex SALT returns, tax provisions, and audits while using SAP, OneSource, and Excel to improve reporting accuracy and uncover strategic tax savings opportunities.

Responsibilities as the Senior Tax Analyst (SALT):

  • Tax Compliance & Reporting: Prepare and review state and local corporate and partnership tax returns, schedules, and related documentation.
  • Research & Strategy: Conduct technical SALT research, monitor legislation, and develop strategies to optimize tax positions.
  • Provision & Analysis: Support quarterly and annual tax provisions, focusing on state and local components of the effective tax rate (ETR).
  • Audit Support: Assist with audit planning, respond to information requests, and address audit findings for income, franchise, and CAT taxes.
  • Technology & Process: Utilize SAP, OneSource, and Microsoft Excel to improve reporting processes and support ongoing tax projects.

Qualifications for the Senior Tax Analyst (SALT):

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required (Master’s in Taxation highly preferred).
  • Experience: 3-6 years of SALT compliance, provision, and research experience within a large corporate tax department or a top-tier public accounting firm.
  • Certification: CPA preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with OneSource, SAP, and Microsoft Excel, with a strong understanding of indirect tax and corporate tax law.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical skills, effective communication, and the ability to work both independently and within a fast-paced team environment.
