Job Overview – Director of Accounting:
Lead financial strategy with our client as the Director of Accounting in Chester, PA. This in-office role is ideal for an experienced financial leader with expertise in GAAP, tax accounting, financial planning, and advanced Excel skills. You will oversee financial reporting, forecasting, and regulatory compliance, leveraging financial modeling and data analysis to enhance insights while driving process improvements and collaborating with sales teams and stakeholders to optimize operational efficiency.
Compensation: $125,000 – $150,000/year + bonus
Location: Chester, PA
Schedule: Monday to Friday (In-Office)
Responsibilities as the Director of Accounting:
- Financial Planning & Analysis: Lead revenue modeling and profitability assessments for new clients and products.
- Financial Reporting & Forecasting: Oversee reporting processes, including budgets, forecasts, and historical analysis.
- Regulatory Compliance & Audits: Ensure GAAP, tax, and insurance compliance while managing IRS and state audits.
- Process Improvement & Technology: Enhance financial reporting tools to improve data accuracy and accessibility.
- Financial Close & Statements: Supervise monthly close processes, ensuring timely financial statements and performance reports.
- External & Internal Collaboration: Work with CPAs, regulators, and auditors while mentoring and developing accounting staff.
Qualifications for the Director of Accounting:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required (MBA preferred).
- Certification: CPA required.
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting and FP&A, with a blend of public accounting, consulting, and corporate finance.
- Technical Skills: Strong expertise in GAAP, federal tax accounting, and financial statement preparation, with preferred proficiency in QuickBooks.
- Advanced Excel Proficiency: Expertise in financial modeling, large datasets, nested formulas, logical functions, dynamic arrays, and data visualization, with VBA familiarity preferred.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial planning skills, with expertise in audits, reporting, and compliance, along with a detail-oriented, organized, and collaborative approach.
