Job Overview – Accounting Manager/Senior Accountant:
Atlantic Group is hiring an Accounting Manager/Senior Accountant to take on a leadership role with our client in New York, NY. This in-office position is ideal for a finance professional with expertise in asset management, private equity, or financial services. You’ll manage financial reporting, month-end close, and audit preparations while overseeing financial operations, supporting system implementations, and providing key insights through financial analysis.
Compensation: $135,000 – $150,000/year + bonus
Location: New York, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday (In-Office)
Responsibilities as the Accounting Manager/Senior Accountant:
- Month-End Close & Financial Reporting: Manage and oversee the month-end close process, ensuring accurate financial reporting for multiple portfolio companies.
- Audit & Compliance Support: Coordinate with external auditors, prepare year-end audit documentation, and maintain financial integrity through internal controls.
- Financial Analysis & Decision Support: Provide data-driven insights, assist with budgeting and forecasting, and contribute to scenario analysis and financial modeling.
- System Implementation & Process Improvement: Support ERP system upgrades, streamline financial workflows, and document internal accounting procedures.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with senior management, investor stakeholders, and internal finance teams to enhance reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Special Projects & Strategic Initiatives: Participate in financial initiatives, including investment analysis, regulatory reporting, and operational enhancements.
Qualifications for the Accounting Manager/Senior Accountant:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or a related field required (CPA certification preferred).
- Experience: 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within asset management, private equity, or financial services.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of GAAP, month-end close, financial reporting, and year-end audits (NetSuite experience preferred).
- Analytical & Financial Modeling Skills: Ability to analyze large datasets, build financial models, and provide actionable insights.
- Leadership & Problem-Solving: Proactive and detail-oriented with strong critical thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Collaboration & Adaptability: Ability to manage multiple priorities, coordinate with stakeholders, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
