Job Overview – Accounting Manager (Management Company):
Step into a key role with our private equity client as an Accounting Manager (Management Company) in Stamford, CT. This in-office position is ideal for a finance professional with expertise in corporate accounting, financial reporting, and management company operations. You will collaborate with the Controller, offshore teams, and investment professionals to ensure accurate financial reporting, budgeting, and process optimization for the firm’s management company.
Compensation: $130,000 – $160,000/year + bonus
Location: Stamford, CT
Schedule: Monday to Friday (In-Office)
Responsibilities as the Accounting Manager:
- Financial Reporting & Month-End Close: Oversee entity books, monthly close, journal entries, and accruals.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist with annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and variance analysis.
- Management Fees & Billing: Track management fees, transaction fees, and coordinate collections.
- Intercompany & Compliance: Reconcile balances across offices and support tax filings and bank covenants.
- Cash Management & AP: Manage cash flow, oversee accounts payable, and handle bank transactions.
- Process Improvement: Enhance workflows, implement new systems, and leverage automation tools.
Qualifications for the Accounting Manager:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required (CPA preferred).
- Experience: 6+ years in corporate or management company accounting, preferably in private equity, hedge funds, or financial services (public accounting experience is a plus).
- Technical Proficiency: Expertise in general ledger operations, financial close processes, and reporting systems, with advanced Excel skills and experience in automation and visualization tools (Allvue Corporate Accounting or Microsoft Dynamics NAV is a plus).
- Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical, financial modeling, and decision-making skills with excellent communication, collaboration, and project management abilities in a fast-paced environment.
