Job Overview – Tax Accountant (Private Equity):
Take on a pivotal role with our client as a Tax Accountant in Montgomery County, PA. This hybrid opportunity involves collaborating with internal teams and external advisors to ensure the seamless execution of tax compliance and reporting processes for private equity investments. You will also engage in tax planning, structuring, and correspondence with regulatory bodies to support the firm’s financial goals and compliance.
Compensation: $85,000 – $120,000/year + bonus
Location: Montgomery County, PA
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Responsibilities as the Tax Accountant (Private Equity):
- Collaboration: Work with CFO, Finance, Legal, Investor Relations, and investment teams to streamline tax operations.
- External Coordination: Liaise with external tax accountants, fund administrators, and portfolio company tax teams.
- Tax Compliance: Review federal/state tax returns, K-1s, withholding returns, foreign tax filings, and FATCA/CRS reports.
- Tax Structuring: Support tax planning and structuring initiatives in collaboration with external advisors.
- Tracking and Reporting: Monitor tax basis at the Fund and entity levels to ensure accuracy.
- Stakeholder Support: Manage LP inquiries and K-1 demographic databases, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
Qualifications for the Tax Accountant (Private Equity):
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
- Licensure: CPA designation is required.
- Experience: 2-5 years in financial services tax at a public accounting firm, with expertise in partnership tax reporting and a preference for private equity clients.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
- Industry Knowledge: Up-to-date knowledge of relevant tax regulations, trends, and best practices in private equity, credit, and venture funds.
- Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong multitasking, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
