Job Overview – Senior Commodity Trade Finance Professional:
Step into a strategic finance role with our client as a Senior Commodity Trade Finance Professional in New York, NY. This hybrid position plays a critical role in supporting the financing of global trading activities, managing banking relationships, and optimizing funding facilities. You’ll collaborate with internal teams and external financial partners to ensure seamless trade finance operations, compliance, and treasury management.
Compensation: $180,000 – $220,000/year + bonus
Location: New York, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Responsibilities as the Senior Commodity Trade Finance Professional:
- Trade Finance & Banking: Maintain relationships with financing banks, supporting bilateral and syndicated funding facilities.
- Collateral Management: Ensure compliance with collateral requirements, title documentation, and reporting schedules.
- Treasury Operations: Coordinate loan forecasts, paydowns, and funding activities with treasury teams.
- Regulatory Compliance: Oversee lender KYC requests, borrowing base reporting, and collateral audits.
- Inventory Financing: Work with trading teams to manage global inventory financing under REPO structures.
- Risk & Process Improvement: Provide credit facility reports to senior management and optimize reporting through automation.
Qualifications for the Senior Commodity Trade Finance Professional:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related discipline required.
- Experience: 5-10 years of experience in Trade Finance, Structured Trade Finance, or Treasury within a bank or commodity trading firm.
- Industry Knowledge: Background in the commodity and energy sector with expertise in trade finance operations, credit facilities, and collateral management.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Excel (Intermediate to Advanced), financial systems, and trade finance technology (coding skills a plus).
- Skills & Attributes: Analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive, with strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills to engage stakeholders and collaborate across teams.
