Job Overview – Tax Compliance Manager (Real Estate):
Take on a leadership role with our client as a Tax Compliance Manager in Philadelphia, PA. This hybrid position focuses on managing tax compliance, reporting, and reconciliation processes, ensuring accurate documentation for investments, including Section 1031 transactions. Collaborate proactively with internal teams and external accounting firms to enhance tax processes, maintain compliance, and drive innovation in real estate accounting.
Compensation: $130,000 – $150,000/year + bonus
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Responsibilities as the Tax Compliance Manager (Real Estate):
- Tax Process Enhancement: Develop and refine processes for accurate tax information capture and document tax accounting procedures.
- Compliance Oversight: Manage tax inquiries, coordinate with external accountants, and ensure accurate and timely filings, including K-1s.
- Team Development: Assist in hiring, training, and fostering a high-performing accounting team.
- Transaction Support: Oversee tax matters for acquisitions and dispositions, perform capital gain calculations, and ensure state tax compliance.
- Technology Integration: Support system implementations and leverage technology for process improvements.
- Internal Controls and Reconciliations: Ensure effective internal controls, perform reconciliations, and review financial records for compliance and accuracy.
Qualifications for the Tax Compliance Manager (Real Estate):
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required (CPA highly preferred).
- Experience: 5-8 years of tax compliance experience, specifically in the real estate industry and structured investment vehicles.
- Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Windows Professional 10 are required.
- Industry Expertise: Strong understanding of real estate tax processes, capital gain calculations, and multi-state withholding tax regulations.
- Skills: Proactive with strong organization, communication, and collaboration skills, excelling in fast-paced environments.
