Job Overview – Internal Audit Manager (Private Equity):
Join our client as an Internal Audit Manager in Boston, MA. In this hybrid role, you will lead internal audit processes, manage SOC reporting, and collaborate with finance, IT, and compliance teams to enhance the firm’s control environment. This position is key to ensuring compliance, supporting strategic initiatives, and driving continuous improvement within the audit function.
Compensation: $150,000 – $175,000/year + bonus
Location: Boston, MA
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Responsibilities as the Internal Audit Manager (Private Equity):
- SOC Program Management: Develop and oversee the SOC 1 framework, ensuring alignment with organizational changes.
- Control Testing: Conduct and document testing across finance, operations, and IT for compliance with established controls.
- Collaboration: Work with finance, IT, and compliance teams to address scope changes and control deviations.
- Provider Assessment: Evaluate SOC 1 and SOC 2 reports from subservice providers and draft adequacy statements.
- Reporting: Review and enhance SOC report drafts to align with AICPA guidance and improve content quality.
- Internal Audit Growth: Drive SOC 1 Type 2 certification and contribute to the development of the internal audit function.
Qualifications for the Internal Audit Manager (Private Equity):
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- Experience: 5-8 years of audit experience in public accounting or internal audit, with SOC 1 experience required (either in an audit capacity or in-house).
- Certifications: CPA, CIA, or CISA strongly preferred.
- Skills: Detail-oriented self-starter with strong analytical, client service, and time management skills, adept at managing projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in evaluating and testing internal controls, with a background in Information Technology.
- Industry Experience: Financial Services, Banking, or Insurance experience preferred.
