Job Overview – Financial Reporting Manager (SEC):
Step into the role of Financial Reporting Manager (SEC) with our client’s Corporate Finance team in New York, NY. In this position, you will focus on accounting close processes, consolidations, and external SEC reporting while playing an integral part in producing accurate financial statements and enhancing reporting models. This role also involves cross-department collaboration and providing insightful analysis to support the company’s financial goals.

Compensation: $120,000 – $150,000/year + bonus
Location: New York, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Responsibilities as the Financial Reporting Manager (SEC):

  • Accounting Close: Prepare, review, and approve journal entries and reconciliations for monthly and quarterly closes.
  • Consolidations & Reporting: Consolidate US and Canadian business results, including foreign currency translation, and prepare financial statements and SEC reports.
  • Forecasting & REIT Reporting: Assist with monthly balance sheet and cash flow forecasts and prepare REIT financial statements.
  • Legal Entity Accounting: Oversee accounting for various legal entities and ensure compliance.
  • Audits & Compliance: Coordinate with auditors and participate in SOX testing while supporting regulatory requirements.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and execute opportunities to enhance financial reporting and system utilization.

Qualifications for the Financial Reporting Manager (SEC):

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • Experience: 4-7 years of experience in public and private accounting, with significant expertise in financial statement preparation and analysis.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and organizational skills, with a proven ability to handle details and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and complex formulas) and experience with Oracle and TM1 preferred.
  • Attributes: Team player with strong oral and written communication skills, capable of working both independently and collaboratively.
