Job Overview – Financial Controller (Hedge Funds):
Take on a key leadership role with our client as a Financial Controller in New York, NY. In this dynamic in-office position, you will oversee the financial operations of hedge funds, including performance reporting, treasury operations, regulatory filings, and team management. Your expertise will ensure operational excellence and compliance while driving strategic initiatives within the organization.
Compensation: $175,000 – $350,000/year + bonus
Location: New York, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday (In-Office)
Responsibilities as the Financial Controller:
- Financial Oversight: Prepare daily and monthly risk and performance reports, manage month-end closings, trial balances, and investor allocations.
- Reconciliations: Conduct daily and monthly trade, cash, and position reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Treasury Operations: Manage cash liquidity, invoice payments, and other treasury-related functions.
- Regulatory Compliance: Oversee the preparation and submission of quarterly and annual regulatory filings.
- Investor Relations: Handle investor operational due diligence requests and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and guide operations team staff, ensuring day-to-day tasks are executed effectively.
Qualifications for the Financial Controller:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred).
- Experience: 7-15 years of experience in Hedge Fund Accounting or Financial Operations, with a proven track record in similar roles.
- Skills: Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, strong communication abilities, and adaptability to new technologies.
- Technical Expertise: Experienced with Eze Eclipse or similar OMS, LightKeeper or comparable tools, and proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
