Job Overview – Senior Fund Accountant:
Step into a pivotal role with our client as a Senior Fund Accountant in Boston, MA. In this in-office position, you will oversee fund operations, ensure the accuracy of financial data, and lead reporting processes across multiple investment products. Your expertise in accounting and finance will drive efficiency and ensure compliance in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Compensation: $90,000 – $105,000/year + bonus
Location: Boston, MA
Schedule: Monday to Friday (In-Office)

Responsibilities as the Senior Fund Accountant:

  • Accounting Operations: Manage day-to-day fund accounting activities, ensuring accurate and complete financial records.
  • Reconciliation & Validation: Perform daily reconciliation of cash, positions, and transactions; validate trade activity and corporate actions.
  • Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing and distributing financial statements, investor reports, and regulatory filings.
  • Research & Analysis: Conduct research on accounting issues, investment transactions, and regulatory changes, providing actionable recommendations.
  • Audit Support: Coordinate and manage external audit processes, including quarterly reviews and due diligence.
  • Process Improvement: Streamline accounting processes, enhance operational efficiency, and leverage technology for automation.

Qualifications for the Senior Fund Accountant:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
  • Experience: 2-4 years of Fund Accounting experience or Public Accounting experience with financial services clients.
  • Technical Knowledge: Proficient in accounting principles for complex investment structures, with expertise in Microsoft Excel.
  • Industry Skills: Skilled in fund accounting systems with proven expertise in managing recurring processes and close calendars using a hands-on approach.
  • Skills: Exceptional research, organizational, and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail and effective communication skills for complex concepts.
