Job Overview – Accounts Payable Specialist (Real Estate):
Join our client as an Accounts Payable Specialist (Real Estate) in New York, NY. This hybrid role is responsible for overseeing the full-cycle accounts payable process, ensuring accurate and timely payments, and maintaining strong vendor relationships. You will play a vital role in managing financial operations, maintaining compliance, and supporting month-end close activities within a fast-paced real estate environment.

Compensation: $100,000 – $115,000/year + bonus
Location: New York, NY 
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Hybrid)

Responsibilities as the Accounts Payable Specialist (Real Estate):

  • Invoice Management: Review, verify, and process vendor invoices, ensuring proper coding and approval with high accuracy.
  • Payment Processing: Prepare and process electronic wire transfers, check payments, and draw requests while ensuring timely payments.
  • System Maintenance: Enter invoices into Yardi, maintaining updated vendor files with current W-9s and other required documentation.
  • Vendor Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, resolving inquiries and discrepancies efficiently.
  • Reconciliation & Reporting: Reconcile accounts payable transactions, audit expense reports, and ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.
  • Month-End Close: Support financial reporting tasks, including bank reconciliations and preparation of AP-related reports.

Qualifications for the Accounts Payable Specialist (Real Estate):

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years of Accounts Payable experience, preferably within a real estate firm.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Yardi and Microsoft Excel; strong aptitude for learning new systems and tools.
  • Skills: Demonstrates strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and efficiency in managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attributes: Proactive and team-oriented, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
