Job Overview – Senior Alternative Product Fund Accountant (Hybrid):
Join our client as a Senior Alternative Product Fund Accountant in Stamford, CT. This hybrid role involves overseeing fund accounting, financial reporting, and custody activities for alternative investment funds and open-end mutual funds. You’ll contribute to NAV reviews, expense budgeting, regulatory reporting, and board material preparation while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure operational excellence and compliance.
Compensation: $115,000 – $125,000/year + bonus
Location: Stamford, CT
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Responsibilities as the Senior Alternative Product Fund Accountant:
- Fund Oversight: Manage accounting and administration for alternative funds, including private equity funds and Business Development Companies.
- NAV Review: Oversee and review monthly accounting packages and NAV calculations for closed-end alternative funds.
- Regulatory Reporting: Review regulatory filings, including shareholder reports and updates to Form N-1A and N-2, and assist with annual audit coordination.
- Custody Management: Monitor custodian activities, coordinate account openings, and ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Expense Oversight: Review and manage fund expense budgets, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
- Shareholder Services: Assist in resolving shareholder servicing matters and transfer agency inquiries.
Qualifications for the Senior Alternative Product Fund Accountant:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
- Experience: 4-6 years in Fund Accounting and Financial Reporting, specializing in alternative investments and complex fund structures.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of alternative security types, private investment transactions, and fund valuation (familiarity with private investment funds and debt preferred).
- Skills: Analytical, organized, and proactive team player with strong communication skills, discretion, and confidentiality.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and capable of learning other systems and tools.
