Job Overview – Financial Controller (Consumer Products):
Step into a key leadership position with our client as a Financial Controller in New York, NY. This role involves overseeing the financial operations of a dynamic consumer products organization, including consolidations, reporting, forecasting, and compliance. You’ll lead a talented team, collaborate cross-functionally, and drive process improvements to support the company’s growth and operational excellence.

Compensation: $175,000 – $200,000/year + bonus
Location: New York, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Responsibilities as the Financial Controller:

  • Financial Operations: Manage monthly consolidations and financial close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly financial statements with variance analysis; collaborate with FP&A on financial and Board reporting packages.
  • Cash Flow & Budgeting: Oversee cash flow forecasting, annual budgets, and year-end audits.
  • Accounting Oversight: Review account reconciliations, journal entries, and cash activities to ensure well-supported and documented accounting.
  • Process Improvements: Drive efficiencies in financial processes by leveraging ERP tools (NetSuite) and implementing business intelligence solutions.
  • Collaboration: Partner with FP&A, operations, and IT to enhance data consistency, reporting, and inventory analytics.

Qualifications for the Financial Controller:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
  • Certification: CPA certification is required.
  • Experience: 10-12 years of Progressive Accounting experience, including at least 4 years in a Managerial role (retail or consumer products experience preferred).
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with ERP systems, particularly NetSuite, and advanced skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Skills: Exhibits strong analytical skills, leadership, and effective communication, with a focus on excellence and meeting deadlines.
