Job Overview – Director of Financial Operations (Hybrid):
Step into a key leadership role as the Director of Financial Operations with our client in Boston, MA, overseeing financial reporting, operational teams, and transformational initiatives. In this hybrid role, you’ll ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and efficiency while driving process innovation and system improvements.
Compensation: $165,000 – $200,000/year + bonus
Location: Boston, MA
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Responsibilities as the Director of Financial Operations:
- Financial Reporting: Collaborate with the US Controller to manage corporate internal and external reporting, ensuring compliance across US and global entities.
- Policy and Risk Management: Develop corporate finance policies, risk analysis programs, and controls assessments in partnership with internal audit and compliance teams.
- Team Leadership: Oversee Accounts Payable, Expense Payment Processing, Accounts Receivable, and cash reconciliation teams, driving operational excellence.
- Expense Management: Supervise expense allocation, cash flow management, and balance sheet metrics, ensuring regulatory compliance and operational accuracy.
- System Enhancements: Lead system improvements, including upgrades to Workday Financials and Anaplan reporting tools, streamlining corporate finance functions.
- Audit and Compliance: Support external audits, tax return preparation, and investor covenant compliance, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.
Qualifications for the Director of Financial Operations:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- Certification: CPA certification required.
- Experience: 15+ years in Controllership or Public Accounting for an investment management firm, with expertise in multi-entity, tax-driven environments.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with Workday Financials or Anaplan reporting tools preferred.
- Leadership: Proven leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to drive process improvements in global organizations.
- Skills: Exceptional organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills, with strong analytical abilities and effective communication across all organizational levels.
