Job Overview – Fund Operations Manager (Private Equity):
Our client’s Private Equity team in Stamford, CT, seeks a Fund Operations Manager to oversee fund operations, finance, and investor relations. This hybrid role involves collaborating with finance, investment, and compliance teams on fund accounting, liquidity planning, data validation, and performance analysis.

Compensation: $140,000 – $185,000/year + bonus
Location: Stamford, CT
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)

Responsibilities as the Fund Operations Manager:

  • Fund Administration: Manage and review deliverables from the fund administrator, including quarterly and annual financial statements and investor reports.
  • Financial Analysis: Prepare and review investor reports, management fees, fund waterfalls, expense allocations, and capital calls/distributions for partnership compliance.
  • Forecasting: Manage fund liquidity needs and forecasting, supporting capital calls, distributions, and transaction planning.
  • Audit Support: Assist in the year-end audit process, working with external auditors, and support the valuation process for portfolio assets.
  • Portfolio Management: Oversee portfolio monitoring systems, ensuring data accuracy, system governance, and report generation for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Automations: Lead strategic projects focused on process automation, reporting design, and data integration to enhance operational efficiency.

Qualifications for the Fund Operations Manager:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance required (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Experience: 5-10 years in Private Equity middle-office operations required.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial accounting, and fund operations.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Advanced Excel, SQL, PowerBI, Alteryx, Tableau, and other data analytics tools for report generation and data mining.
  • Skills: Detail-oriented, self-motivated leader with strong prioritization and communication skills for stakeholder management.
