Job Overview – Tax Manager (Hybrid):
Join our client as a Tax Manager in Wilmington, DE, overseeing fiduciary income tax planning, preparation, and compliance for a range of trusts. This hybrid role involves close collaboration with internal teams and clients, ensuring the accurate and timely filing of tax documents and providing trusted guidance on tax processes.
Compensation: $90,000 – $135,000/year + bonus
Location: Wilmington, DE
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Responsibilities as the Tax Manager:
- Tax Reporting: Oversee preparation and review of Form 1041 and related state fiduciary tax forms, along with other tax forms for distributions, gifts, and estate taxes.
- Tax Planning: Address complex income tax preparation issues, ensuring accurate allocations, deductions, and calculations.
- Relations: Develop strong relationships with Trust Administrators, CPAs, Legal Counsel, and clients, providing insights and addressing trust-related tax issues.
- Development: Contribute to streamlined tax processes, ensuring timely and accurate filings, and prepare tax memorandums to support essential tax positions.
Qualifications for the Tax Manager:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Taxation required.
- Experience: 10+ years in Tax roles, including 3+ years focused on Trust Taxation required (5+ years in public accounting preferred).
- Certification: Active CPA license highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, with preferred experience in tax software and research tools (e.g., CCH Axcess Tax, AccuTrust, CCH, RIA).
- Attributes: Detail-oriented, strong communicator, and highly skilled in fostering client relationships.
