Job Overview – Product Control Associate (Hedge Funds):
Join our client’s team as a Product Control Associate in New York, NY, supporting daily P&L reconciliation and valuation for hedge fund portfolios. This hybrid role involves cross-department collaboration to ensure data integrity, process improvements, and smooth global handoffs within a dynamic team.
Compensation: $95,000 – $115,000/year + bonus
Location: New York, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Responsibilities as the Product Control Associate:
- P&L Reconciliation: Reconcile daily P&L data across systems (Geneva), identifying and explaining P&L drivers for each investment strategy.
- Control Checks: Conduct control checks to ensure Balance Sheet and P&L data accuracy and integrity.
- Support: Address ad hoc queries from Trading, Marketing, Legal, Middle Office, Fund Accounting, and other departments.
- Process Improvement: Contribute to process automation and enhancements to improve efficiency, scalability, and simplification.
- Pricing: Assist with month-end price checks, coordinate with Fund Administrators and auditors, and support quarterly valuations by preparing or reviewing models.
- Reporting: Manage internal and external reporting requirements, including regulatory submissions.
Qualifications for the Product Control Associate:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics required.
- Experience: 1+ years in P&L management, Product Control, or product support within a bank, fund, or trading firm required.
- Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with data management/analysis tools (e.g., Alteryx, Geneva).
- Knowledge: Broad understanding of Fixed Income Credit Products (Bonds, Bank Debt) and FX hedging.
- Attributes: Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments and regions.
