Job Overview – P&L Accountant:
Step into a key role as a P&L Accountant in New York with our trusted client, overseeing accounting entries, P&L calculations, and position reporting for commodities. In this full-time position, you'll collaborate with Traders, Logistics, and cross-functional teams to ensure financial accuracy and drive business growth.
Compensation: $70,000 – $90,000/year + bonus
Location: New York, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday (On-Site)
Responsibilities as the P&L Accountant:
- Monthly Accounting: Oversee all aspects of monthly accounting for assigned products, ensuring accuracy in collaboration with front and back office teams.
- Financial Reporting: Produce accurate and timely monthly and annual reports for assigned commodities.
- P&L Analysis: Analyze P&L movements, providing clear documentation on how market changes and trading strategies impact results.
- Control Processes: Execute the Product Control function in compliance with established control processes.
- Development: Work with business units to enhance the Product Control frameworks and procedures.
- System Projects: Ensure all reporting requirements are accurately captured and prioritized in system development projects.
Qualifications for the P&L Accountant:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- Experience: 1-3 years in accounting, financial analysis, or audit, preferably in consumer goods, manufacturing, or distribution.
- Industry Background: Experience in non-financial sectors like commodities, manufacturing, or distribution (familiarity with inventory accounting preferred).
- Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and analytical abilities, with advanced Excel proficiency.
