Job Overview – Financial Reporting Manager (Hybrid):
Join our client as a Financial Reporting Manager in Newark, DE, where you'll lead reporting functions, ensuring accurate and compliant SEC and non-SEC filings. This hybrid role involves collaborating across departments to drive process improvements and manage reporting tasks.
Compensation: $100,000 – $130,000/year + bonus
Location: New Castle County, DE
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Responsibilities as the Financial Reporting Manager:
- Reporting: Lead SEC and FERC reporting, including drafting disclosures, processing changes, and coordinating quarterly reporting items.
- Collaboration: Partner with Business Units, Investor Relations, Treasury, Legal, and auditors to ensure efficient information exchange.
- Technical Accounting: Research and apply new accounting standards while benchmarking SEC filings from other companies.
- Control Environment: Complete key financial and disclosure controls to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
- Staff Supervision: Oversee staff accountants, provide review and approval of reporting assignments, and participate in performance assessments.
- Ad-Hoc: Respond to data requests, support merger integrations, and participate in miscellaneous projects.
Qualifications for the Financial Reporting Manager:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required (MBA preferred).
- Certification: CPA required.
- Experience: 7-10 years of combined Big 4 audit experience, including 3-5 years in management (public accounting preferred).
- Technical Skills: Expertise in FASB/GAAP, SEC, and SOX compliance.
- Skills: Strong project management, leadership, and process improvement skills, with effective communication and a customer-focused approach.
- Preferred: Experience in regulatory/utility/FERC reporting or the energy sector is advantageous.
