Job Overview – Tax Manager (Hybrid):
Step into a pivotal role as Tax Manager with our client’s esteemed investment firm in Boston, MA. Lead tax planning, compliance, and strategic initiatives in this newly created position, perfect for a seasoned professional eager to make an impact post-private equity investment.
Compensation: $150,000 – $180,000/year + bonus
Location: Boston, MA
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Responsibilities as the Tax Manager:
- Tax Compliance: Oversee the preparation and filing of all federal, state, and local tax returns.
- Tax Planning: Research and strategize on tax planning opportunities to minimize liabilities and risks.
- Compliance Oversight: Ensure full compliance with tax laws and regulations.
- Tax Provisions: Review and manage tax provisions for financial statements.
- Tax Advisory: Provide internal tax advisory services and communicate strategies to management.
- Audit Management: Coordinate and manage tax audits.
- Ledger Maintenance: Maintain tax balances on the general ledger.
Qualifications for the Tax Manager:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree or CPA certification is preferred).
- Experience: 8-10 years of experience in Tax Accounting; 5 years in a Tax Manager or Public Accountant role.
- Technical Proficiency: Comprehensive knowledge of the US tax code, compliance, and procedures.
- Skills: Strong experience with tax planning, risk analysis, strategy, and project management.
- Software: Proficiency with tax software programs and Microsoft Office applications.
