Job Overview – Commodity Operations Associate:
Join our client's team as an experienced 
Commodity Operations Associate in New York City! This hybrid role ensures the consistent performance of commodity operations in a dynamic environment, managing numerous stakeholder requirements while maintaining strict compliance with operations procedures.

Location: New York, NY
Compensation: $100,000 – $120,000/year + bonus
Schedule: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday (Hybrid)

Responsibilities as the Commodity Operations Associate:

  • Global Transportation Flows: Develop and execute global transportation flows of base metals.
  • Physical Trade Execution: Coordinate customer deliveries with industry best practices.
  • Account Management: Oversee regional markets, customer requirements, and inventory tracking.
  • Deal Financing: Negotiate deal financing, review and negotiate Letters of Credit, and manage supplier payments.
  • Vessel Tracking: Track ocean vessels and review laytime against charterparty terms.
  • Transportation Negotiation: Negotiate transportation rates and quotes to support new business development.

Qualifications for the Commodity Operations Associate:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Experience: 2-4 years in Transportation Logistics, Operations, Customer Service, and/or Project Management functions preferred but not required.
  • Charter Party Terms: Familiarity with charter party terms/clauses preferred.
  • Skills: Strong negotiation skills, understanding of industry vetting standards, excellent time management, and the ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong proficiency in MS Office, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
