    What are an Estimator’s job responsibilities?

    The Estimator is responsible for a range of tasks which generally include:

    • Review and analyze construction projects (drawings, specifications, proposals, etc.)
      • Attend pre-bid/design meetings
      • Determine required proposal/bid deliverables
    • Provide accurate quantity take-offs on assigned project drawings and specifications
    • Research costs, materials, equipment, construction methods/techniques, etc. to obtain competitive bids and save money
    • Obtain bids from various subcontractors and vendors
      • Analyze pricing of proposals
      • Develop cost estimates
      • Discuss with subcontractors and vendors on questions and/or issues with bids
    • Utilize proper databases to calculate, record and track estimates
      • Maintain detailed budgets/estimates
      • Maintain proper saving of estimate files
      • Maintain all working documents
    • Develop initial project cost, plans, and schedule

    What is the average salary for an Estimator in Philadelphia?
