Role Overview – VP, Investment:
Join a leading private debt investment manager as a VP, Investment. In this role, you will contribute to an emerging platform focused on Special Situations, Sponsored, and Growth direct lending opportunities in the U.S. middle market. You will also work alongside a talented team in our client’s New York office and help drive the firm's strategic growth in this exciting space.
Compensation: $200,000.00 – $250,000.00 + bonus (450k – 650k potential total)
Location: New York City – in office (5 days / week)
Responsibilities as the VP, Investment include:
• Work on all legal aspects of new deals and existing portfolio companies, including due diligence, documentation, and closing
• Assist deal team with structuring transactions, providing legal insights and recommendations to optimize risk and return
• Work with outside legal to ensure proper legal representation and alignment with the firm's objectives
• Ensuring that any restructuring complies with relevant laws, regulations, and the lender's internal policies and procedures.
• Negotiate and draft credit agreements
Qualifications of the VP, Investment include:
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Relevant experience working on direct lending deals, with a solid understanding of the legal aspects of private debt transactions
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex legal issues and provide practical solutions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
