Atlantic Group is hiring a Temporary Fund Controller (Hybrid) in Greenwich, CT for our client, supporting fund accounting and financial reporting across investment funds, including Business Development Companies (BDCs). This interim role focuses on overseeing end-to-end fund accounting, NAV reporting, and regulatory deliverables while partnering closely with internal finance teams and external service providers to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and strong controls.

Responsibilities as the Temporary Fund Controller:

  • Fund Accounting & Close Oversight: Oversee full fund accounting processes for BDCs, including monthly and quarterly closes, journal entries, reconciliations, and NAV calculations.
  • Financial Reporting & Regulatory Filings: Prepare and review financial statements, schedules, and supporting documentation for SEC reporting, board materials, and investor communications.
  • Service Provider Management: Manage and review work performed by fund administrators, auditors, and tax advisors to ensure completeness, accuracy, and adherence to reporting timelines.
  • Controls & Process Review: Ensure strong internal controls across fund accounting and reporting workflows while identifying opportunities for process improvement and efficiency.
  • Stakeholder & Ad Hoc Support: Partner with internal finance and investment teams on ad hoc analyses, reporting requests, and special projects as needed during the engagement.

Qualifications for the Temporary Fund Controller:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required (CPA strongly preferred).
  • Experience: 6-12+ years of experience in fund accounting or financial reporting supporting investment funds, with BDC and private equity exposure preferred.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of investment fund structures, NAV calculations, valuation methodologies, and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced Excel proficiency required, with experience working alongside fund administrators and accounting systems used in alternative asset management environments.
  • Skills & Attributes: Highly detail-oriented, deadline-driven professional with strong judgment, the ability to operate independently, and experience stepping into complex fund environments quickly.
