Job Overview – Staff Accountant (Manufacturing)
Compensation: $20 – $25/hour
Location: Montgomery County, PA
Schedule: Monday to Friday (In-Office)
Atlantic Group is hiring a Staff Accountant (Manufacturing) in Montgomery County, PA for our client, supporting general accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory and cost accounting, cash management, and financial reporting within a manufacturing environment. This role will support month-end close, maintain accurate accounting records, analyze manufacturing costs and inventory activity, and assist with tax and compliance requirements. The ideal candidate has hands-on accounting experience within manufacturing and strong QuickBooks Desktop and Microsoft Excel skills.
Responsibilities as the Staff Accountant (Manufacturing):
- Accounts Receivable: Manage customer invoicing, cash application, collections, account reconciliations, and resolution of billing discrepancies.
- Accounts Payable: Process and review vendor invoices, payments, reconciliations, and related accounting records while maintaining accurate payment schedules.
- Inventory & Cost Accounting: Maintain inventory accounting, analyze manufacturing variances, support standard costing, and reconcile raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods.
- Cash Management: Monitor daily cash activity, support cash flow forecasting, and assist with working capital and treasury-related processes.
- Tax Compliance: Prepare sales and use tax filings, reconcile tax accounts, and support related compliance and audit requirements.
- Financial Reporting: Support month-end and year-end close, journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and external audits.
Qualifications for the Staff Accountant (Manufacturing):
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- Experience: 4+ years of progressive accounting experience is required, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience with inventory accounting, cost accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash management, financial reporting, and GAAP is required.
- Technical Skills: QuickBooks Desktop experience and advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required, with strong financial analysis capabilities preferred.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, communication, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple accounting priorities and deadlines are required.
