Job Overview – Staff Accountant (Healthcare)
Compensation: $37/hour

Schedule: Monday to Friday (In-Office)
Atlantic Group is hiring a Staff Accountant in Boston, MA for our client, supporting general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close within a healthcare environment. In this temporary role, you will prepare journal entries, perform account reconciliations, and analyze financial data while ensuring accuracy and compliance with U.S. GAAP. You will utilize Excel and accounting systems to support audits, maintain financial records, and contribute to reporting processes.
Responsibilities as the Staff Accountant:
- Month-End Close: Prepare and post journal entries, including intercompany transactions, to support accurate close processes.
- Account Reconciliation: Perform balance sheet reconciliations across key accounts such as cash, accruals, and prepaids.
- Financial Analysis: Analyze revenue and expense trends and provide variance explanations for reporting.
- Intercompany Accounting: Manage intercompany invoices and allocations across multiple entities.
- Audit Support: Provide documentation and support for internal and external audit requests.
Qualifications for the Staff Accountant:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
- Experience: 1–3 years of accounting experience in a professional environment is required.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and general accounting principles is required.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with general ledger systems such as Lawson or similar is preferred.
- Skills & Attributes: Demonstrates strong attention to detail, organization, communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
