Job Overview – Senior Technical Accountant:
Step into an exciting role on our client’s team as a Senior Technical Accountant! In this hybrid position, collaborate with the Technical Accounting and Corporate Finance Teams to address critical accounting issues such as financing, mergers and acquisitions, adoption of new accounting standards, and the upkeep of global accounting policies.
Location: Billerica, MA (Hybrid)
Compensation: $95,000 – $120,000/year + bonus
Schedule: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday
Responsibilities as the Senior Technical Accountant:
- Mergers and Acquisitions: Assist with M&A activities, including contract review, valuations, and post-acquisition accounting.
- Investment Accounting: Manage accounting for minority investments, including equity method and ASC 321 accounting.
- Hedge Accounting: Support hedge accounting and financial instrument reviews.
- Policy Development: Develop and maintain accounting policies, and support their application.
- New Accounting Pronouncements: Implement new accounting standards.
- Transactional Support: Provide US GAAP guidance for complex transactions.
- Internal Controls: Participate in internal controls program and financial reporting controls.
- Quarterly Procedures: Review restructuring charges, interest charges, and M&A expenses.
- Financial Reporting: Contribute to 10-Q and 10-K financial statement preparation and audit requests.
Qualifications for the Senior Technical Accountant:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required (MBA and/or CPA preferred).
- Experience: 4+ years of relevant work experience.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP; excellent communication skills; advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Attributes: Strong analytical skills and ability to manage complex projects.
