Job Overview – Senior Tax Analyst:
We are seeking a Senior Tax Analyst for our client’s team in Boston, MA. In this hybrid role, you will participate in U.S. tax compliance, planning, and financial reporting efforts.

Location: Boston, MA
Compensation: $100,000 – $115,000/year + bonus
Schedule: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday (Hybrid)

Responsibilities as the Senior Tax Analyst:

  • Tax Preparation: Prepare U.S. federal and state income tax returns, including international reporting, quarterly estimates, and extensions.
  • Tax Provision: Prepare the quarterly and year-end U.S. tax provision, investigate discrepancies, and ensure the proper roll-forward of U.S. deferred tax assets and liabilities.
  • Book/Tax Differences: Identify and calculate all U.S. book/tax differences, tax basis depreciation and amortization.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work with multiple departments on various tax filings and projects.
  • Process Efficiency: Create efficiencies within the tax department from a process and functionality standpoint.
  • Consultant Coordination: Work directly with outside tax consultants on tax compliance and tax-saving initiatives.
  • Account Maintenance: Maintain tax accounts, including monthly reconciliations.
  • Tax Research: Research and respond to notices from various tax authorities.

Qualifications for the Senior Tax Analyst:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA and Masters in Taxation preferred.
  • Experience: 5+ years of large corporation tax experience.
  • Skills: Strong compliance background, preferably with Big 4 experience or large corporate/public experience. 
  • Technical Competence: Up-to-date knowledge of legislative and regulatory tax developments and trends.
  • Communication Skills: Outstanding communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Software Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and experience with financial modeling.
